job-platform privacy policy

Effective October 8, 2026.

job-platform is a private application operated by Vikram Singh Mamak for his own job search. He is its only user. This policy describes what the application does with Google user data because the application requests access to a Gmail account through Google's APIs.

Google user data the application accesses

With the operator's explicit authorization, the application uses the Gmail API with two permissions.

How the data is used

Message content is used to identify new job postings, to associate employer replies with the operator's job applications, and to update application status (for example, confirmation received, interview requested, rejected). Nothing else.

Where the data is stored

Data is stored in a database on hardware owned and controlled by the operator, protected by access controls, with encrypted backups in a storage bucket controlled by the operator. It is retained until the operator deletes it.

Sharing and third parties

Google user data is not sold, rented, or shared with any other person. Message classification is performed by rules running on the operator's hardware. As an optional fallback that the operator can disable, a trimmed excerpt of a message (sender, subject, and the opening lines) may be sent to Anthropic's Claude API to classify the message type. That excerpt is processed under Anthropic's commercial terms, which do not permit training on API data without express permission. No other third party receives Google user data.

Limited Use disclosure

job-platform's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Revoking access

The operator can revoke the application's access at any time from the Google Account security settings under third-party apps and services. Revocation stops all further access immediately.
